This includes clarifying requirements and user stories, designing and executing tests, managing defects, and producing test reports. The role ensures that quality assurance and test automation practices within the domain align with overall Quality Engineering standards, strengthens quality assurance and improves release confidence through defined testing frameworks, QA governance, and quality metrics. The Quality Engineer collaborates closely with delivery, platform, and business teams to enable high-quality releases within the domain.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to the domain test strategy, approach, and coverage (manual and automation) in alignment with Quality Engineering standards.
  • Drive shift-left testing by participating early in refinement and design discussions, identifying test scenarios, risks, and dependencies.
  • Track and report quality status using agreed metrics (e.g., test progress, defect trends, coverage) and escalate risks to the Section Head and delivery teams.
  • Define and maintain domain test plans, test approach, and execution schedules to support timely releases and provide clear testing visibility.
  • Design and maintain test cases ensuring traceability to requirements/user stories and risks.
  • Execute and coordinate test activities (functional, regression, and non-functional where applicable), including supporting CI/CD-integrated testing.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort by recommending reusable test assets and collaborating with automation engineers on candidates for automation.
  • Coordinate test data and environment readiness with delivery and platform teams, and ensure reliable, repeatable test execution and evidence capture.

Who You Are

  • Degree-qualified in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science or IT related discipline, with minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in software testing within customer-centric technology delivery and maintenance, with strong grounding in QA methodologies and defect management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a mid-to-large enterprise environment with structured SDLC, governance, and release management processes.
  • Demonstrated experience promoting and supporting the adoption of standardised testing practices and test automation (e.g., identifying candidates for automation and collaborating with automation engineers).
  • Strong experience working with stakeholders across business and technology teams, including coordinating testing activities with external vendors where applicable.
  • Strong experience in quality assurance practices, test design, and defect management within Agile and waterfall delivery teams.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks and making sound day-to-day testing decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence through clear communication, persuasion, and consensus building across technology and business teams.
  • Collaborative team player who can coach peers/vendors on testing approach, quality risks, and defect prevention practices.
  • Strong analytical and systems thinking skills to identify root causes, assess impacts, and propose pragmatic quality improvements.
  • Hands-on experience with test tools and practices such as test management, defect tracking, test automation collaboration, and CI/CD-integrated testing (where applicable).
